JAWS PLAYER GUIDE
We started checking the specifications of the JAWS Pachinko machine and
realized we needed the Players Guide to understand all of the machine
features before we started compiling the pictures and information to produce
this ad. This book was invaluable as there are so many reaches, bonuses, and
multiple Jackpot play. The book is huge! It is 12" X 17" and has 27 high
gloss pages of pictures and illustrations. After completing the book we
began the play and production of this ad. We know the new owner will
be breathless! IT COULD BE YOU!!!
The Player Guide book comes to life with the very first page! You open the book
and a giant pop-up displays a giant JAWS after Catherine swimming in the water.
It doesn't have anything to do with the play but it will leave you speechless!!
The 4 pictures above gives you an insight into what is necessary to advance
to something other than standard 3 reel video play. Top left is the
Character Setup. When you see the fish jumping and the seal after them
followed by Catherine swimming and finally Catherine being pulled under the
water you will advance to one of the many reaches. A Reach is the term used
in Japan when you match the first two numbers. It causes the machine to
advance to an upward level. Perhaps just a missed 3 matching number, a Mini
Clip while it is trying to match the 3rd number, advancing to Dialogue or
perhaps the Giant Jackpot. Anything is possible when you get a Reach. The top right picture shows the Movie Setup. When you hear the JAWS theme song start and see the shark fin break to the surface the machine is about to go into the Movie mode. The Movie clip will continue while trying to match the 3rd number giving you the Giant Jackpot. The lower right picture shows the numbers sinking, being blown up, and disappearing as it tries to match all 3 numbers. The lower left picture shows an advancement from a Reach. It is the
Dialogue screen. This is the first level of Interactive play. When you see
this screen you can start pushing the Interactive Chance button in hopes of
further advancement. It could be nothing, it could be a Chance game, or
perhaps the Captain's Chance game. As long as you keep getting the
Interactive push button on the screens you are still advancing to the Giant
Jackpot.
There are 6 different Reach events - Catherine, The Diver, Scream, Escape,
Captain, Fight, Ski, and the Harpoon. With any of the Reaches you will get a
Movie clip. We did notice that the sharks on top of the Video slot represents
the intensity of the Reach action. Until we got 4 Red Sharks on top we kept
getting the same Reach action. After getting to 4 Red Sharks we advanced to the
Captain, Fight, Ski, and Harpoon series. We captured one of the Reach videos and
you can click on the picture in the next section to view the action!!
There are 2 different Chance games to play. The Full Rotation Chance game was
the closest we got to the Giant Jackpot. We went through numerous Reaches before
getting to the Chance games. The JAWS Chance game is really fun. It has
Interactive play and you will either get to the Captain, the Diver or Catherine
video. - You must complete all of them before you get a shot at Giant Jackpot
play and beyond!!
There are 3 different Captain Chance games - Radar, Helm, and the Radio. You
must complete all of them before you get a shot at Giant Jackpot play and
beyond!!
Two of these games are Interactive while Radar is sweeping the ocean for
traces of sharks and more specific - JAWS! If you will look at the various Radar
screen illustrations from the Players Guide you can see the sharks found. They
appear on the left side of the Radar screen. When the Radar screen turns Red and
there is a Giant Shark on the Radar screen - JAWS is close! The Helm is an
Interactive game where you try to land the giant Sailfish. The Radio game is
Interactive and you must receive the warning of the impending Thunder Cloud. If
successful, you advance to the Thunder Cloud Bonus game. THIS IS AWESOME!!!
This is the Thunder Cloud Bonus game. The next 80 balls you get in the Video
Slot pocket will activate the Thunder Cloud Bonus. You will not only get a ton
of reward but the action is intense! If along the way you match all 3 numbers
you automatically advance to the Giant Jackpot play! Little did we know how
exciting this Giant Jackpot really is!! The next section of Jackpot and Battle
Mode play will fill you in on all that awaits you if you are one of the very few
lucky people to own this amazing machine!!!
Below are two pictures from the Players Guide that illustrate the amazing Giant
Jackpot. 5, 6, 7 different clips on every level. Then after round 5 you will
take a very different turn. Something we have never seen in Pachinko play. It
will all become crystal clear in the next section.
This is Battle Mode. We were not sure what all of this means. When we hit the
Giant Jackpot and then the Battle Mode the light came on and WHAT A TRIP!!
This concludes the section from the Players Guide book. What a treat it has
been. It is too bad that there isn't a guide for all of the machines we sell. It
would save us 100's of hours. Now we move on to LIVE ACTION! One last thing --
Take a look at the picture above and count the number of X'ed out sharks. Put it
in the back of your mind and before this ad is over you will realize the
importance of them. |
JACKPOT & BATTLE MODE PLAY
After the first
5 rounds of the Giant Jackpot the screen goes black and we thought we were
headed for Round 6. NO! NO!! We are headed for the first Battle Mode play.
We saw our
first look at Battle Mode in action. The screen came on and it had the
Chance button in the middle. We were unable to react fast enough to get a
picture. We were busy pushing the Chance button. After we pushed the Chance
button a new screen arrived. It said Ready and a 7 was in the lower right
corner. We think we have won 7 rounds of Battle Mode play. The screen
changed again and Catherine was on the deck of the boat. It is very dark and
a storm is brewing in the background. There are two zeroes on top of the
Video slot. We think this means we are looking for another zero to advance
somewhere. We aren't sure at this stage of play. We also noticed the Red X
shark box followed by X01. Every time we got a ball in the Video Slot pocket
the numbers began to roll. On the fifth try we got the third zero and the
screen changed. We were back to the first round of the Giant Jackpot! What
is going on?? READ ON!!
This time we
went through all 15 rounds of Giant Jackpot play. We expected the
machine would go back to normal play. HERE IS WHERE WE FOUND OUT HOW
POWERFUL THE BATTLE MODE PLAY REALLY IS!!
![]() Suddenly the
screen changed back to Battle Mode play. This time there are two Red X
sharks on the Video. This time our target was 6's. On the seventh ball in
the Video Slot pocket we were back to the Giant Jackpot. If you can keep
matching the three numbers you will have gone through 5 rounds of Giant
Jackpot play, 15 rounds of Battle Mode, and 15 full 15 round Giant Jackpot
plays. You have the opportunity to win 1000's!! Even more important you will
experience Pachinko play raised to a BRAND NEW LEVEL! Giant Jackpot play and
Battle Mode play for multiple hours! ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?? It goes
without saying that this incredible machine will entertain you for
decades!!!

Mechanically when you get all three matching numbers in the Video, the GIANT
JACKPOT HAS BEGUN!!! You better start firing the balls as fast as you can. FIRE
FASTER! Every time you land a ball in the Trap Door area, it pays 15 free balls
and increases the Jackpot level by one. As the sequence increases, the
excitement grows, additional lights start flashing and the MUSIC accelerates!
You have to Fire fast and accurate to cash in! It just doesn't get any better!
Not only do you have an Exciting Pachinko Pinball Machine you have Fully
Functional High Definition Wide Screen LCD VIDEO ACTION!! By comparison, an
American Pinball Machine is about as exciting as watching the grass grow! THIS
MACHINE IS AWESOME!!
The machine is approximately 33" high, 20" wide, 10" deep and weighs about 75 pounds. Included with your machine is 400 Authentic Japanese Pachinko Balls, Door Key, Ball Container, Instructions and GUARANTEED to reach you in 100% WORKING ORDER! These machines come on feet for table play but can be mounted on or in a wall just like they are in the Japanese Pachinko Parlors. |

Pachinko machines use Authentic Japanese Pachinko balls. Pachinko machines do not use either coins or tokens as there is no coin slot on the machine. It would be impossible to alter a Pachinko machine to accept anything except Authentic Japanese Pachinko balls and would automatically void any warranty remaining. The Pinball game of Pachinko is extremely popular throughout the world!!
Foreign editions liaison John Couch on pachinko: Enter the typical Japanese pachinko parlor. A cacophony of sounds blast through the door and in front of you are screaming red, pink, orange, yellow, and neon green machines each with a zombie Japanese businessman, right hand glued to a knob, sitting mesmerized in front of rows and rows of glass panels. There is the sound of thousands of ball bearings pinging off of pins, clacking against glass, setting off sirens as they fall into the coveted holes, releasing even more balls into the plastic holding trays below. Above the din, digital rave music adds another layer to the sensory assault. Silver balls are amassed and stacked in plastic bins next to the more successful players. Some players employ more inventive uses for the balls and stick them in their ears to help combat the noise. The new face of entertainment media. In the not so distant past, pachinko had the dubious reputation of being the barely legal game of blue-collar workers and the Yakuza (gangsters). Times have changed, and pachinko has become very big business - government figures report Pachinko revenues now exceed US$286 billion. The game has upgraded not only its clientele but also its data processes. Want to know how a particular machine did at a particular parlor? Check out the in-house Data Robo and view payoff info for each machine in the hall. Having a lucky streak? Amass your riches on a RoboCard which holds "ball savings" and works as your membership card for that particular parlor. With a built-in revenue stream and a slavishly dedicated following, it's no wonder that Koji Tonai, the managing director of pachinko colossus Daikoku Denki Co. Ltd is predicting that pachinko "is going to take a seat among Japan's key industries, and we're going to build a whole new society around it." The term Pachinko is derived from the Japanese word pachi-pachi, translated means the clicking of small objects. While the origins of Pachinkos are unknown, most feel their beginning came from the game "Corinth" which began in Chicago at the turn of the 20th century. Pachinkos started appearing in Japan between 1915 and 1920 and the first Pachinko Parlor was opened in the Osaka Prefecture. The systematic placement of nails on the play board to direct the flow of the Pachinko ball is attributed to Takeichi Masamura and is still used with today's new electronic Pachinko Machines throughout the world. Pachinko is similar to the Pinball Machine in that a steel ball is shot onto the playing surface where it bounces through a network of nails called the "Masamura Gauge". The object of the game is to have the balls enter into the winning pockets, whereby you receive free balls that is equal to machines that payout coins. |
