While in search of the Ferrari Pachinko Pinball machines we ran across what we feel is a machine that is as rare. It is the Top Gun series Pachinko Pinball machine. We think we have found all of them that are available.

       The video is huge and it is High Definition. It is in English, the scrolling text, voices and music. The Pachinko machine music is the actual music from the movies. The background music you hear, if you have your speakers on, is the music from one of the Jackpot series. The backgrounds constantly change and they go from day to night. The graphics are unequalled. It clearly stands out from all the rest!

       For the first time in Pachinko machine history, Top Gun incorporates a Video Arcade game into the flow of play. The machine goes from Regular play to Reach play. From there it goes into Jackpot play followed by flight mission play and then to Interactive Mission play where you must use the buttons on the machine to avoid missiles that are headed to your Fighter Plane and the other button to fire missiles at the enemy planes. One button is your flight joystick and the other fires missiles. Think this is good? It gets better!!

       After you have completed your Interactive missions we get to new horizons in Pachinko pinball play! You go into a totally new concept of Pachinko Super Jackpot play. When you complete the 15 rounds of play the video displays a fighter plane flying over the ocean. You will start with 150 rounds of ammo in your Fighter plane. The button on the left fires the rounds and the button on the left turns on the afterburners of your plane. When you get a ball in the Video Activation pocket an enemy plane heads toward you. If you fire a shot at the plane at the right time it will be a direct hit. The enemy plane explodes and your score increases by 50. After several rounds you will get another Jackpot and the action continues. After the 15 rounds of Jackpot play you will be back at the Video Arcade game exactly where you left off except you will have another 150 rounds added to your total. Another totally new feature is that you don't have to get balls in the Trap Door to continue. When you get to the Jackpot it will go through all 15 rounds and put you back to the Arcade game. If you run out of ammo you can still be saved. You continue Video Arcade play until you get another Reach. If the Reach is successful you will get a fresh supply of ammo and the Video Arcade game continues. The only way you can lose is to fail in the Jackpot and then fail in the Reach play. When that finally happens you will receive a Fighter plane pilot rating. We went to the Arcade game 11 times. Our final score was 1300 and we received the lowest possible rating. WE RECEIVED A RATING OF D!! You cannot possibly get enough of Top Gun. Just think how you will feel when the Video flashes YOUR RATING IS A - YOU ARE A TOP GUN!!!

       Top Gun (1986) Maverick is a hot pilot. When he encounters a pair of MiG's over the Persian Gulf, his wingman is clearly out flown and freaks. On almost no fuel, Maverick is able to talk him back down to the Carrier. When his wingman turns in his wings, Maverick is moved up in the standings and sent to the Top Gun Naval Flying School. There he fights the attitudes of the other pilots and an old story of his father's death in combat that killed others due to his father's error. Maverick struggles to be the best pilot, stepping on the toes of his other students and in a different way to Charlie, a civilian instructor to whom he is strongly attracted.

       Iceman and Maverick, determined to win the School contest, angrily chews out Iceman for taking too long to attack an enemy craft; Maverick takes the shot, but when the two aircraft get close, the backwash from Iceman's thrusters cripple Maverick's engines and the F14 plunges toward the sea. Goose barely succeeds in yanking open the emergency ejection handles, but when the fighter's canopy pops open, the two pilots eject and Goose crashes into the canopy, killing him.

       Maverick is devastated by Goose's death and though an inquiry clears him of wrongdoing his confidence is destroyed. He nonetheless graduates from the class and is reassigned to the Enterprise, where an incident with enemy MiG's leads to a fateful battle involving Iceman as well as Maverick.
