       The most innovative product for Pachinko and Slot machines since the creation of the Pachinko Ball and Slot Token. We have spent more than 3 years and $1,000.00's of dollars to find the final solution to the volume problems associated with the excessive noise level these machines produce.

       If the words Potentiometer, Cermet Trimmers, Pots or Attenuator are mentioned our Technical staff run and hide. It has been the most difficult of problems to solve. We assembled 100's of different combinations and the problem remained. We purchased virtually every "volume control" we could find through Google and eBay. Every one we tested had the identical problem. The problem was the volume controls would only vary the volume 2% to 5%. Some "volume controls" were less than 2%.

       We have thought for years that the problem is changing a 24V Pachinko/Slot system so that it will operate with 110V US current. Volume control systems work on 12V car stereos, 110V stereo systems, 110V musical instruments. Why wouldn't they work with Pachinko or Slot machines? None of the above varies the current from 110V to 24V. Our final conclusion was to find a company in Japan or Taiwan that were experts in 24V technology. We found an Audio engineering firm in Taiwan that solved the problem! When the test model arrived we were very apprehensive and gave it little chance of working.

       It took a total of 12 minutes to install the 3 volume controls on a Captain Roberts Pachinko machine and turned it on. We started with the Alpha Carbon™ volume control in the off position. Then we increased the volume to 10%, Perfect! We then tried 20%, 30%, 50% 75%, and 100% -- ALL PERFECT! IT WORKS!!

THE BEGINNING

Below is a picture of just a few components that we used in the development of a volume control for Pachinko and Slot machines. If you check the Internet and eBay you will see many of these parts. We can tell you that 100% of these did not work. We are not saying that there aren't controls out there that would work. What we are saying is that we spent 3 years finding a component that will vary the sound level from 0 to 100%.

       Below is a picture of a volume control with instructions that were cut out of an 8 x 10 sheet of paper. We found this jewel on eBay and it cost us more than $20.00 and we didn't even get a full sheet of paper. We installed this thing and used an audio meter. The variation in sound level was exactly 1.2%. Just like our background music from Forrest Gump -- Life is like a box of chocolates, you don't know what you will get!!

       This is just one example of what we found on the Internet. All kinds and all prices from $8.00 to more than $20.00. Regardless of the price they all had one thing in common. They wouldn't vary the sound more than 6%. Get a hearing aid or earplugs. That makes the others work better.

THE SOLUTION

       The parameters we defined as absolutely necessary for a volume control to work perfectly and fit into a small place where speakers normally hide yet large enough to be functional. Potentiometers and cermet trimmers require a jewelers screwdriver to adjust. We did not feel that would be very functional. After buying premade and trying to make our own devices with these types of components it became very clear they don't work properly and are a pain to try to adjust. We found the optimum size of a volume control would be 5/8" X 7/8" and not more than 3/4" in height. This size will mount close to the speaker and yet allow doors and covers to close properly.

       The next parameter is making the installation simple and with a minimum of parts and tools. All that is required is the Alpha Carbon™ Volume Control, the 2 supplied 3M Scotchlok™ wire connectors, a pair of scissors, a small pair of pliers, Super Glue Gel™, a 1/2" piece of double sided tape, and possibly a Phillips screwdriver. DETERMINE THE CONTROLS REQUIRED

       As illustrated above we need 3 Alpha Carbon™ Volume Controls for the Captain Roberts Pachinko pinball machine. Pachinko and Slot machines will require a volume control for each speaker.
